Cannot watch an activity on Garmin Connect Mobile before it is finished? What's the use of the watch, then?

Since last Garmin Connect Mobile upgrade, when I start a bicycle or running activity on the watch,
it doesn't appear on the Garmin Connect Mobile as usual.

If I attempt to synchronize it from Garmin Connect on my smartphone, while I'm performing it, I receive a message telling that the synchronization isn't possible while the activity is in course.
I have to end it (yes, really: to finish it) to see it appearing on the smartphone.

Meaning that if I want to see at the middle of a run what are my current stats, to improve myself, or choose instead to go slower, etc. I can't.
It's only when I finish the activity, that I can learn something about what I've done.

What's exactly the use of the watch,
while you're doing your activity
if you can't use it to watch your current values and the stats since it started?

Not sure what you mean, but my watch shows all data I need during the activity. Look at the watch, not at the phone Wink

  • Before the last update, I was also able to watch the activity on the phone, with more data than on the watch.

Look at the phone too, not only at the watch.

  • On the phone app, only the steps, floors, Calories, and Intensity Minutes updated in real-time in the old version, and they still do with v5, too, as long as you keep them in the "At a Glance" block. So far, no change.
