New Garmin connect mobile updated home page is awful

I cannot believe how bad the new Garmin connect home page is. Why remove the ease of viewing my day with one glance of the app?. Now have to scroll through the page to see all the info that was contained in my day section.  On top of that, the user has no ability to bring back the old display or edit it to something similar. This new update is so annoying I suspect my next smart watch won't be a Garmin.

If this home page stays as is, I will no longer be a Garmin user for ANY of their products.

Update to moderator.   Nothing in my original post was "uncivil".  Why do you keep censoring my comments?

  • I agree. This is form over function.

    the form is terrible

  • Absolutely hate my Garmin now. My husband has a fit bit and was jealous at the layout and features of my Garmin. Now I hate it!! I had finally found an excellent tracking device and they ruined it. I tried the Beta and honestly, the Beta was better than whatever this hot mess is. Ugh…sadly, I will be selling my Garmin and moving over to Fitbit, which I loathe but the interface is much better than this garbage of an app.

  • Go to Google-play where you download the Garmin-connect app.

    Change your rating to 1-Star.

(Hopefully Garmin will react with a statement of rollback intentions.

& cut & paste the following in the description.

Garmin-connect was 5-Star app. However, the latest update(May-2024) has made it a 1-Star app. It's verbose, wastes valuable phone screen. A terrible appauling update.

  • An Open Letter to Garmin: Bring Back the Functionality We Love

    Dear Garmin,

I’ve been a loyal supporter of your products for years, and it’s with a heavy heart that I write this. The recent changes to the Garmin Connect app layout have not only been surprising but also a significant functional downgrade. The intuitive interface we had grown to love has been replaced with a design that complicates what was once a seamless experience.

I understand that change is often necessary for progress, but when it comes at the cost of user satisfaction, it’s a step in the wrong direction. I’ve encouraged my entire family to invest in the Garmin ecosystem because I believed in the quality and user-centric design of your products. However, this sudden shift feels like a betrayal to our commitment and trust in the Garmin brand.

I urge Garmin and its decision-makers to consider the feedback from their user community seriously. I’ve learned that customer support is compiling a list of users who call in to express their dissatisfaction. I ask everyone who shares this sentiment to reach out to Garmin support. It’s crucial that our voices are heard, and our concerns are not just acknowledged but acted upon. (We can make change if our voices are loud)

As a dedicated user who has championed Garmin’s products, the thought of selling my Fenix 5 is disheartening. Yet, I find myself considering this if the app’s functionality isn’t restored to its former state. It’s a decision I hope I won’t have to make.

Garmin, you have the power to rectify this. Please listen to us, your loyal users, and bring back the functionality that made us choose Garmin in the first place.

    Sincerely,

    A very longtime customer

  • Ray is right, new version is not user friendly. In addition, it does not work properly. My Epix Gen.2 says I'm taking a nap when working. No way of deleting this erratic recording.

  • Go to playstore

And rate the app as 1 star.

A "ONE STAR" rating will eventually get Garmins attention.

  • I completely agree. They have ruined something that worked so well. I absolutely hate this new feature!!!!!

  • Play store reviews went from 4.3 to 4.4 and people are mostly giving one to two stars, weird logic.

  • They released a beta and I opted in to it but reverted back and basically left my review as leave it like it is, because I hated scrolling past the all the large stuff. Although I don’t think enough people tested the beta or didn’t leave feedback or they didn’t listen
