New Garmin connect mobile updated home page is awful

I cannot believe how bad the new Garmin connect home page is. Why remove the ease of viewing my day with one glance of the app?. Now have to scroll through the page to see all the info that was contained in my day section.  On top of that, the user has no ability to bring back the old display or edit it to something similar. This new update is so annoying I suspect my next smart watch won't be a Garmin.

If this home page stays as is, I will no longer be a Garmin user for ANY of their products.

Update to moderator.   Nothing in my original post was "uncivil".  Why do you keep censoring my comments?

  • Yes, 16m units sold in 2021 (last year I saw recorded).  However when you have several hundred people complaining it probably indicates a much higher degree of dissatisfaction.  Probably the real indicator will be if people switch to the competition, FitBit, Apple, Samsung etc..  Alas the mobile app is such an important part of the echosystem that if it fails to satisfy, people move.  But its also a common phenomena when UIs are changed that people complain, because if it worked you don't really want to learn another way of doing the same thing (especially if the new UI needs more interaction to get the same level of performance).  I suspect they updated the web version and then tried to use the same code base for the mobile app (a cost decision), alas the tile UI isn't brilliant on mobile devices so it was a basic error.

  • Ha ha, I was thinking about buying a new Edge cycling computer, I'm still using a 2009 edge 705 (which is really good if a bit S-L-O-W) but as the new edge devices rely on Garmin Connect so I wont bother.

    Thumbsup

  • But this is not the case here. There's reduced functionality and f...d up UI that needs a page to be scrolled endlessly. People that choose Garmin gear for its robustness and devotion to functionality, are not really into fancy blah blah blah "unified interface": they want functionality delivered as simple as possible. Once you're heavily running guy, you want to see simply the parameters in one, quick view or few clicks and not to masturbate on fancy watch faces or "immersive experience" or how they call that crap.

Really angry, really want to throw away my fenix purchased 2 years ago.

  • 100% agree, but are Garmin listening?? They asked for feedback on Instagram and everyone said they hated it. I’m now actively looking at alternative apps, any recommendations?

  • 100% agree!  It totally sucks.  Put back the old layout.  If it's not broke don't fix it Garmin.  How does this improve the function of anything?  Ask yourself that question before you just randomly do dumb things.

  • Yes, get out of the beta program. Not only is it bad but the information is wrong.my forerunner 955 telling me today you're work out is " base workout" I do the work out then my connect app respond is telling me I'm detrainning, and unproductive work out..

  • Completely agree!!! If ain't broke ... why break it

  • I hate the new version with a passion usually reserved for political figures. It has turned a useful, quick reference aid that encouraged me to train into an extra reminder of how useless things can be. It almost makes me want to look for a different company for a new watch.

  • How do I manually add a workout?  My garmin battery was drained but I want yo track my workout still even if not perfect.
