New Garmin connect mobile updated home page is awful

I cannot believe how bad the new Garmin connect home page is. Why remove the ease of viewing my day with one glance of the app?. Now have to scroll through the page to see all the info that was contained in my day section.  On top of that, the user has no ability to bring back the old display or edit it to something similar. This new update is so annoying I suspect my next smart watch won't be a Garmin.

If this home page stays as is, I will no longer be a Garmin user for ANY of their products.

Update to moderator.   Nothing in my original post was "uncivil".  Why do you keep censoring my comments?

  • Absolutely agree with this. Got told I can’t change it back. I had tried the beta and hated it. Gave feedback but apparently they went with the update anyway. So annoying. I don’t want to have to swipe through to see my data. Bring back the old format. Did anyone hate that one???

  • Curious. Did anyone leave positive feedback for beta? I was like you and begged them to at least leave the old one for those of us that hate the new one

  • CALL Garmin and burn up their phone lines - (800) 800-1020

    I don't think they're checking this page.

I called (800) 800-1020 - waited a minute and the very nice tech came on the line. When I said I want to complain about the Connect Update, he asked what I don't like about the new Connect update and said he would submit.

He also said They are not going back to the other version ... does that mean they heard the complaints on BETA and did it anyway? But he said modifications to the new one and suggestions are welcome.

I said the pictures take up too much room on a phone and the user can only view 4 tiles at once.

I suggested to give users the option of the new "tile" format or a Data display by rows - with data and without the virtually useless pictures/graphs (useless for most types of data)

  • it's probably a money / technical thing why they will not go back to the old version (apart from admitting that they f*cked the UX/UI up really badly). It's now identical for the app and the web so that probably means they're saving out on devs having to maintain both seperately.

  • Once they align with Chinese s...t, they loose.

    What a world.

  • Why is everything so tiny? I tried to configure At a Glance, but cannot get my Steps to show up first, meaning I then have to do multiple clicks to see the data I want. Also, I want that beautiful, bright orange activity to pop up to the top when I do a run. Garmin, please make some changes to the new horrible setup!

  • It's awful. I may as well delete the app now as I'll never use it

  • Could not agree more. I battled with the new home page in the Android app but now I find it close to useless. The great overview we had is gone and we are limited to a card view that to me makes no sense. Please bring back the old home page at least as an option. The old home page is vastly superior in my view. Will have to downgrade the app as it stands now..

  • Awful bring back the old one...hate it

  • Couldn’t agree more with these comments. I’ve just put a scathing review on the App Store in the hope they may listen when their rating go down?

Another issue is that I don’t continually sync my watch and the app to save battery and so yesterday’s overview is wildly wrong. So frustrating. Why fix something that’s not broken?
