New Garmin connect mobile updated home page is awful

I cannot believe how bad the new Garmin connect home page is. Why remove the ease of viewing my day with one glance of the app?. Now have to scroll through the page to see all the info that was contained in my day section.  On top of that, the user has no ability to bring back the old display or edit it to something similar. This new update is so annoying I suspect my next smart watch won't be a Garmin.

If this home page stays as is, I will no longer be a Garmin user for ANY of their products.

Update to moderator.   Nothing in my original post was "uncivil".  Why do you keep censoring my comments?

  • You can disable auto update for the app in the play store on the app page of the Garmin connect app itself.

  • You can turn off auto update for just the connect App instead of all your apps.

  • I'm not a big tech lover and so I initially only wanted a dive computer and a watch but my partner convinced me that I would like the data that comes with the garmin and he was right. I got in to checking my steps and floors and intensity minutes, logging my water intake. I was checking the connect app about 5 times a day. Since the upgraded home page, I don't use the connect app at all. It is so cumbersome. It is now a dive computer and a watch. It is so disappointing. You added some tech to an anti-techie's life and then reminded her why she is an anti-techie. Why screw up something that was so great?

  • Ditto. I thought it was me. Yes, old format line by line. New format shows only four rectangles..

  • They did beta testing starting in January I think. I was part of that as were many many others, I quit and joined back in 4 times and gave feedback each time because I hated the new design so much and I hoped that my feedback would help. There were so many that did the same and it seems that Garmin ignored the negative feedback as nothing I suggested was implemented which is echoed all over the multiple threads here on the forums. They choose not to listen to their customers and pushed out this disaster of a downgrade (I can not call it an update because it is a huge step backwards in my opinion) anyway.

  • It should be called "At a Scroll, Swipe and a few Clicks"

  • Agreed. The purported ability to organize the new selections in the order you want to see them does not exist on my device. But the Connect app and my vivosmart 5 cannot seem to hold a pairing for more than two weeks and Garmin doesn't think this is worth a fix, so not caring what users actually want on their app home screen totally tracks.

  • Wholeheartedly agree.  Fully customizable is a lie now.  The update is awful and provides 0 benefit to users.

  • It's probably a money thing.

The app and website are now identical with changes visible in both simultaneously.

This means it's most likely based in the same technology, like an electron app, which means Garmin just needs one team to maintain both the website and the app now and can fire the other one.

  • The new page is a disaster. I opted in to the beta... gave it a chance. After 3 days I said enough and have the feedback on changes that should be made. But get this -- no changes were made to the beta before releasing. Harmon took nobody's suggestions. Zero changes. This interface on Android is horribly worse than the previous one. And then I go to look at the desktop site, and it's also a disaster. Where did all the feature go? Where are the custom dashboard settings? I had three different views for three different purposes. All gone.
