New layout: more that 50% unused screenspace, why?

Graphic design in general has been going downhill for the last 10 years. It's also likely that whoever designed this update doesn't actually use it, I cannot imagine how someone who was serious about tracking their activities or health stats would think this is an improvement.

This.. I have been wondering why the screen looks awkward on top of being suddenly difficult to interpret. The space used for each data is too much. I think designers think consumers love scrolling.

Hey Garmin, why all that dead space? You planning to fill it with ads later on or something?

I went back to Garmin Connect v4.77.1 to get rid of that horrible updated homescreen. If you don't fix the homescreen before the old version of Connect stops working my next watch will be a Suunto.
