Garmin Connect - no audio prompts/instructions/directions on a Samsung S20 phone from Fenix 7X

Hi

this topic appeared in different forms few times, but still I do think system solution is not set.

Phone: Samsung S20 

Watch: Fenix 7X S

Earphones: JBL paired with my phone as Id like to listen the content not from Spotify or Tidal (...an audiobook app)

Problem: no audio directions when in Navigation mode ON on the watch.

All Permissions granted, all softwares up to date (April 2024).

Why it does not work?

....I am able to hear Watch sounds when earphones paired with watch directly, but I dont want to be cut off from my audiobooks.

  • Yes, that's super weird and super inconsistent. Some audio promts are produced by the Garmin connect app and are only audible through the phone, some (like the navigation ones) are produced by the watch and are only audible on headphones paired to the watch. 

    Solution: pair one set of headphones with the watch and one set with the phone and wear one per pair in each ear (just kidding)...
