I use the watch for monitoring chronic illness and it makes a big difference to my data on days I do a hair wash or lymphatic massage, and I want to be able to stop it counting wrist movement as steps during those activities. It can take my average daily steps from 0.2 miles up to 0.7 or more which doesn't reflect reality when I'm mostly in bed.
Does it really work to put your watch on your ankle? Won't that just start counting movement in bed towards my steps?
What I really want is a setting or hack to pause step counting for 10 minutes every time I need to. Maybe there's a third party app on Garmin connect?
