The Lithuanian translation for the app is just awful. There's no way an actual Lithuanian speaker did the translations because some of the things sound worse than what Google translate suggests.
Even simple words like "Running" and sometimes "Steps" aren't translated properly. "Running" is translated as "Leidžiama", a word that most of the time means "allowed" or "permitted". In some niche contexts it can mean "running" but in a sense that a piece of software is running. This word has nothing to do physical running. "Steps" is translated as "Etapai" on some screens, which can mean "steps" or "stages" when talking about a multi step process of doing something, but has nothing to do physical human steps.
There are many many other weird and outright wrong word choices. I won't go over all of them. The worst thing of all is that with updates translations are becoming worse, not better. About three years when I started using it was bad but not as bad as it is now. Since about a year or two ago every so often an update comes out with some awful new translations. Actually the word "Running" was correctly translated when I first got the app, but some idiot decided that instead they should use a completely irrelevant word for it.
My phone doesn't let me pick a language per app so it defaults to system language, which is Lithuanian. Garmin, please at least add an option in settings to not use the system language for the app. I'll gladly use English instead.
I don't understand how a big company like Garmin can't hire a proper translator and give him/her full context of all the menus.
Are other translations for the app just as bad?
