No heart rate information in Garmin Connect beta app on Android

Hey all,

I am wondering if I am missing something. I have a Garmin HRM Pro Plus partnered to my Garmin Connect app. When I initially set up, I was not using the beta app and I had the historical details of my heart rate. I then transitioned to the beta app, and I have not found a way, and no option, to show an HR data. The only blood related option I can see is an option to add blood pressure.

I have seen many discussions about missing HR details but these seem to be in the regular app. Can anyone help? Is this user error (which is fine) or something else?

Thanks in advance.

  • There is a stat for Heart rate that will show your current HR and a graph.

  • Can you point me to where this stat is?

  • Can you point me to where this stat is?

Either among the "Glances" (Edit them and add the HR glance, if not visible), or on the current day table at the bottom (above the 7 days table) - when you tap the line with the HR, it opens the detailed HR screen. Or you can access that screen through the menu - tap ... More bottom right » Health Stats » Heart Rate

  • I've attached some screenshots to show that I don't believe I have the options you are talking about. But again, if I'm being blind, let me know.

  • It looks like the HR is not available with this version, when you have just the HRM-Pro strap standalone, and no watch associated with the app. I can only suggest the following solutions:

    • Contact the Support and report it to them
    • Disable the beta functionality in Menu » Settings » Beta program
    • If that does not help, install an older version of the app from apkmirror.com
    • Use a 3rd party app to read the HR. For example the Strava app can do it (even with the free account), but there are many more
    • Buy a Garmin watch (there are several quite inexpensive older models for less than $100 available on the market)
  • Thanks. So I wasn't going blind. The HR data is there in the non-beta version (which I have now switched back to) for the HRM strap. Odd that it's not in the beta app. I also use a 3rd party app for recording sessions which is how I knew the HR stats were being recorded just fine.

Thanks again for the information. Appreciated.

  • Have you tested if it helps if you remove the HRM from Connect and add it again?

It is odd that a HRM doesn't get a HR stat.

  • Tested this morning after your suggestion. Connected the HRM when in the beta app. Didn't work. But still works in the non-beta app.

And I very much agree. It seems very odd to me that the gold standard for HR, doesn't have HR stats. It's kinda the reason why I thought it must be user error because it seems like the HR stats would obviously be present.

  • But still works in the non-beta app.

Well, the beta version will be sooner or later enforced to everyone, so I highly recommend reporting it to the Support, otherwise you'd stay without this possibility in near future, unless you disable the auto-updates of the app. And even if you report it, it is uncertain whether and how fast they fix it.

Alternatively, you could unlock the full feature list by adding any Garmin watch. That can be done even if you do not plan owning any such watch - you could test-buy one in the nearest sport store, add it to the app, and then return the watch (or doing it directly in the store, without the temporary purchase).
