How can you revoke Garmin Connect access to Strava and then re-connect to a different Strava account?

I've just got a forerunner watch and in the Garmin Connect app I tried to link my Strava account.

I made a mistake and linked it to my son's account by accident. 

The problem is that I can't link it to the correct Strava account now. 

I can go into the Connect app settings and disconnect from the incorrect Strava account but then when I go back into settings to try to enter my correct Strava details it doesn't ask for them but simply remembers the incorrect ones and reconnects to that! (It doesn't even come up asking for the Strava account info)

I've tried:

Going to the Strava website and revoking access to Garmin Connect.

Uninstalled the Garmin Connect app including clearing its cache and data. When I reinstall it still reconnects to the incorrect Strava details.

Tried going onto Garmin Connect on the web but there seems to be no option on there to disconnect from other apps. (I can't even find anything on there to connect to other apps in the first place!)

Any other options I can try?

It just seems very difficult to do, I'm getting very frustrated with my first Garmin purchase!!

    I am able to break the link between Garmin Connect and the (incorrect) Strava account on both of the web sites as you suggested. 

    The issue is that I then want to link Garmin Connect to my (correct) Strava account. 

    I can't see any way of connecting to 3rd party apps on the Garmin Connect website so I'm trying to do it on the app. 

    In the Garmin app when I go to Connected Apps and select Strava it now doesn't ask me for my (correct) Strava login details like it did the first time, it just goes straight to asking me to agree to connect, as it seems to be retaining the (incorrect) login details from the first time I filled them in.

    I've tried deleting the Garmin Connect app and all of its files but as soon as I reinstall and log back in I still have the same issue. 

    I'm at a loss. It's a shame as I quite like the watch.

    My apologies, here's the entire process:

    Reestablish the connection between Garmin and Strava. Use these steps from the web sites (not the app) for both Garmin Connect and Strava:

    • Go to Garmin Connect https://connect.garmin.com/modern/settings/accountInformation
    • Click on Account Information section look for Strava, then click on Disconnect
    • Go to Strava https://www.strava.com/settings/apps
    • In the My Apps section look for Garmin Connect then click Revoke Access
    • Toggle the Strava/Garmin connection - under Social Connections click Disconnect Garmin, then Connect with Garmin
    • Log out of Strava, then login to the Strava account you now want to use.
    • In the popup window enter your Garmin credentials (email address and Garmin password)
    • Confirm that you want Activities and Courses shared between Garmin and Strava
    • Go back to https://connect.garmin.com/modern/settings/accountInformation
    • In the Account Information section confirm Strava is connected
    • Additionally, you'll want to confirm that you're using the same account for Garmin Connect Web, Garmin Connect Mobile, and Garmin Express
    • Go for a short test activity to see if all is well

    That's fixed it. 

    Had to go through the steps a couple of times but it all seems sorted now. 

    I never would have come up with that correct sequence of steps by myself. I wonder why it's so complicated?
