Apple watch heart rate not shown in Garmin connect ios app

Using apple watch and garmin Edge 1040 for cycling but my heart rate is not shown in the connect app?

How is the Apple Watch connected to the Edge? Do you see the heart rate on the Edge? Add HR as a data field.

I use a wahoo tickr chest strap while cycling but in the app it says it can read from Apple health which uses the apple watch heart rate data?

You can't get any data from Apple Health into Garmin Connect (unless you use some 3rd party integrations).

Data goes from Garmin to Apple. Not the other way around.

"IMPORTANT: The Garmin Connect app cannot receive any data from Apple Health or an Apple Watch."
