Change of "Event Type"

When I change the "Event Type" in the activity, the change after saving the operation, fails and I have to resort to Garmin Express to change it.

I get the same, looks like this has been happening since 2nd March 2024 and I never noticed.

If I edit the activity and try and save as "Race" or "Training", it always reverts to "Uncategorized" after saving.

For me it started with the Garmin Connect Mobile for Android 4.76 update. Using Garmin Connect for Web to set the Event Type until fixed.

After my activities i usually (by using Connect app on my Android) set the Event Type of the activity to something different other then default uncategorized, however noticed that despite no error, it accepts the save, but does not retain the Event Type i just set. It used to work OK up until last app update. Via PC/WebPage it works OK.

Assuming this is an app bug, what's best way to report?

It is a small thing, but a recent change.

After saving an activity recorded using my FR265, I always go onto Garmin Connect on my Android phone to edit the name etc. Until recently, updating the event type always synchronised quite happily to GC Web, but not any more. Now, other edits, such as the activity name appear on the web version, no problem, but the event type always remains "Uncategorised" and needs to be amended on the web version.

Am I missing something, or is there something screwy going on?

Yes, I submitted a support ticket about that last week. This is the answer I received from the CSR. I sent him what he requested.

Thank you for that information, it does look like a bug as we can only reproduce on Android. Can I ask a few more questions so I can pass this along to our engineers?

Yes it started when they changed the layout of the softaware to the new format.
Anyone know of a way to mult-select filtered activities to set to an Event Type?
That way I can fix all the 'Uncategorized' Event Types.

Not in Garmin Connect Mobile for Android but you can search for them on Garmin Connect Web,

You will have to change the Event Type on activity by activity but you can search for then using the Advanced search after choosing an Activity Type (eg Running).
