Running dynamics not shown in connect app

After tonight's run, most of my running dynamics did not show in the garmin connect app. Cadence and stride length are still there, but vertical oscilliation, vertical ratio, ground contact time, and L/R balance are not there. Same watch, same HRM, and the battery is fine. Any suggestions why it may have happened, and how i can get them back?? Thanks!

The HRM strap might have been accidentally removed from the paired sensors, or the connection failed for some reasons. At the end of the life of the battery, it can happen that the battery level is still being reported OK, although the strap starts misbehaving.

You can make a quick check - put the strap on, start a dummy running activity, and scroll up to the RD screens (normally three are two of them, when the strap is connected. At least I do have two RD data screens on my Instinct 2). If the screens are there and showing data, then the strap is connected. If there are no RD screens, the connection did not work. In that case, go to Menu » Sensors & Accessories, and verify whether the strap is connected.

  • Thanks! The HRM is connected. And when I save the workout, I see some of the RD.... but not all of them as I used to see them. Battery is definitely ok.

  • I see some of the RD

You wrote you got only the cadence and stride length. That's the data you get without the strap anyway.

Besides that, RD is being transferred over ANT+, while the HR can be transferred also over BT. So if it tells the strap is connected, it may mean it is connected over BT, but not necessarily over ANT+ too. Do as I suggested, and if you see no RD screens, you can try removing the strap from the watch, and then adding it back again, and/or replacing the battery.

  • Ahhh... i see. Ok.. i will try it tomorrow. Thanks a lot. I will post how it goes.
