Beta feedback - RIght place?

I'd like to report 2 findings that I have so far, alongside confirming if this is the best place to report those:
1) The hydration glance is not updating whenever you perform an activity that triggers the auto-increase fluid ingestion (if you dive in you see the updated amount but not at the glace initial page)

2) There is so much vertical empty space on both glances and In focus widgets. Either allow us to freely resize them and leverage larger/smaller sizes accordingly or just compress them if the current data displayed is what is desired.

  • Beta feedback - RIght place?

Feedback here - How Do I Leave Feedback?

    • Open the Garmin Connect app.
    • Access the Menu (select More in the bottom right).
    • Select Settings.
    • Select Beta Program.
    • Select Give Feedback.
    • Fill out the feedback form and select Send.
  • I've done it already but it felt more like a rating as you'd share on a google/apple play store rather than a beta feedback for improvement but I'll report everything there then.

  • Maybe they don't really want feedback, they are just doing their thing. And we have to take whatever they came up with.

  • Garmin doesn't really seem interested in hearing from us, no matter how coherent and reasoned the feedback might be.  For this Beta, severely changing GC Web [and allegedly, but I have yet to see the GC app] interface, the instructions for leaving feedback hyperlink us to device [watch] forums. The [chromium] browser reports quite a few errors I'd like to report [that IV&V/QA mustn't have had time to explore] in addition to some positive and negative reactions to the new web home dashboard.

  • I'm not sure the hydration thing was working correctly before this Beta.  Maybe total hydration got accurate overnight or something, but I know that taking fluids during an activity wasn't reflected in my home page hydration chicklet shortly after the activity was logged.  I confess to never referring to a prior day to see if the activity hydration was eventually included in that prior day's total.

  • I've been using Garmin to track fluids for almost 2 years now and whenever I had an activity that auto-increased the intake need it would reflect in the main page but this new beta version unfortunately won't auto-increase on the glance view, just when you dive into it.

  • I`m certain they want feedback but they probably don't have the headcount to cope with the amount we're giving.
Specifically for the Connect App I believe they should've created a better channel to report things such as the forums we use here whenever our watches have beta versions to be tested.
In the end it wouldn't make much sense to run a beta if you don't want feedbacks because that's what a beta is designed for: getting feedback, fix an issue/address a feature, and release a final stable version to the general public.

  • I believe that's the flaw for this Garmin Connect beta: Not working on proper channels to report and perhaps give us some visibility on current complains/feedback on the ones we issue because it may be the case that hundreds or thousands have already reported similar things, they're already working on fixing it but just don't let us or anyone know.

Today I also switched to Beta version on my Android.
And I have exactly same reports as you.

And the hydration issue is also seen on the web version - it shows me complete at 2000ml (that's my default daily target)

but when I go to details it shows correct, updated according to my activities

I was planning to send them to outdoor.beta - but then realized this is connected to the app and came here. Just to find the exact reports in other users mind

  • I am not at all familiar with the 'auto-increase' feature; I just know that manually editing a hydration amount into an activity after-the-fact didn't seem to update that daily summary, at least not in a timely manner.  I always had to manually enter the same water intake into the hydration thing by hand.
