Is there a manual upload an activity to a connected app rather than auto sync

Wanting to manually upload an activity to a connected app and there doesn't seem to be an option for it. At the moment I am having to delete a double up cycling ride when recorded on 2 different devices which is a pain and Interfering with statistics which is not good either I am using a mobile phone so can not drop a file which is just clunky. This should be a fairly simple thing to do a manual upload button on the activity completed with the choice of connected apps to upload too.

  • You have to disconnect the app/service and do a manual import of the activity to that app/service.

  • Wow that sound like a lot of fluffing around and way above my expertise lol. Hopefully one day garmin improves this

  • I don't think it is that easy to implement. All changes should work with all users around the world.

I got like 20 different services connected. Should there 20 buttons so I can select to which service the activity should upload to?

It is easier to just click delete on the duplicate ride and you are done.

Or just log with one device.

Another way is to ask the other service to require that you approve all imports that should be added there.

  • Why log with 2 devices?

  • The watch is just everyday health stats and a bike computer with cycling stats it's just the way I am doing it and why not logbwith 2 devices lol

  • why not logbwith 2 devices

To not get the issue with double logging and incorrect stats... That would solve the issue you are trying to solve with an extra button in Garmin Connect.

I log my cycling with a bike computer and my everyday health stats and all other training with my watch. No need for double logging.

  • Fair call it was just an observation that I thought would be simple thing for app and software developers to create rather than having to use a computer to drop files into another place which is not that straight forward, clearly you being more intelligent than me realizes this is not so. I am not a very tech savvy person so thought it would be easy for those that are. Each to their own how many devices are being used to record data.

  • Each to their own how many devices are being used to record data.

I still don't understand why you log with both devices if you always have to delete one of the activities. All issues would be fixed if you just log with one device.

If you log with your watch to get better HR readings you can just discard the activity on the watch when the cycling is over. That way you will get the better HR logging without the extra activity that you have to delete.

    1. I want the data from the ride for my watch health stats as that is what it is for. The data from bike computer is more accurate and loaded to training peaks but if inwant any other activities I do loaded to training peaks I have to sync my watch to it. I don't want to send cycling data to it but have no choice if other activities being synced to it
  • Health stats will be logged if you log and then discard on the watch.
