Then remove the device from Garmin Connect (if already there), and remove it also from Android's list of BT devices (very important !!!), and then try pairing again through Garmin Connect (not in Android's BT menu!).
Which phone brand do you own, BTW? Some Samsung and Pixel models are well known for such issues. Some tips for these phones (but not only for them) are available in the Sync / Connection Troubleshooting Guide, others may be found on this forum (use the search function at the top of this website, and look up the name of your phone model). If nothing of it helps, contact the Support at https://support.garmin.com
