Garmin is not picking up morning wal as an activity

Garmin is only recording steps for power walk but if I do a slow walk then this is recorded as an activity. Why is power walk not recorded as an activity?

Start it manually. The Auto Activity Start triggers an activity only after 5, 10, or 15 minutes of walking, and the moving pattern needs to be recognized as walking (or running), which is probably not the case at your power walking, or the activity is too short. Starting the activity manually solves both of it.
