WTF happened to the GPS track/map feature??!!! GONE. NOT TO BE FOUND.

One of the useful results of turning on my Garmin watch was getting a map of my route afterwards. This is no longer available!!!??

And, why is it that if my run starts and stops at the exact same place, there is ALWAYS (often significant) change in overall elevation?

  • I started a chat with Garmin support, got transferred twice, the last time into silence. Tried again and "a chat specialist is not available"

Sounds like disabled or dysfunctional GPS. Did you get the GPS lock before starting? I recommend soft-resetting or restarting the watch and checking for updates with Garmin Express - that will download an up-to-date ephemeris data for the GPS.

Because of the change of the temperature and/or because of the change of the atmospheric pressure. If you need more accurate elevation data, it is recommended to warm-up for 10-20 minutes before starting the activity, and you can also perform a manual calibration during the activity, when there are significant changes in temperature or changes of barometric pressure.
