How to update reps of a strength workout after the workout?

Hi all,

I created a strength workout on Garmin Connect and put in in my Garmin Instinct 2S watch. All good so far.

The only thing is, the rep count is not always accurate, plus the amount of time after each set that is given to modify the amount of reps I have done is very limited.

So I often wait for the end of the workout to sync with my phone and update the reps on the app.

However, I noticed that the modifications on the app do not sync with the watch. The activity on the watch is still containing the wrong amount of reps.

Do you know how to fix this, if fixable?

Many thanks,

D

  • However, I noticed that the modifications on the app do not sync with the watch

The edited activity is not supposed to sync back to the watch. Why would you need it there?

  • It seems very absurd to have the same activity with different data on watch and phone...

Whenever I want to check my previous activity on my watch, it is then displaying the wrong data.

  • It does not look absurd to me. It works in similar way in many other areas where you have a device collecting data, and then a platform for editing, postprocessing, and for reviewing the data. The collecting devices most often keep only the original raw data. That includes for example cameras (edited photos do not sync back to cameras), or even professional measuring equipment, medical devices, etc.

Personally, I opened a past activity on my watch perhaps once or twice in the past five years - it is much more comfortable with the phone or with a computer. However, if this feature is important to you, you can submit a request to Garmin at Share Ideas | Garmin. Should it be a frequently requested feature, there is perhaps a chance Garmin considers a change.
