Is there a way to control Spotify app on Smartphone?

Hi,

I updated from Vivoactive 3 to Garmin Venu 2 Plus. Everything works fine and I'm happy with it. But there is one feature that I'm missing (or unable to find/configure). With Vivoctive 3 I was able to remote control Spotify app on my smartphone. Venu 2+ offers Spotify directly on the watch even without smartphone and actually that works fine. But is there a way to also control the Spotify app that runs on smartphone? I have thousands of songs which wouldn't fit on the watch..

Have a look at the Music Playback Controls in the Controls menu - it works on the music player the last used on the phone:

Thanks, that fixed it for me. Once you connected your watch to Spotify this option isn't availabe anymore. It seems that it isn't possible to use both options.

By "Once you connected your watch to Spotify", do you mean installing the watch's Spotify app? At least on my Forerunner 965 you can still change the music provider after that by long-pressing up and choosing "select music provider" (or something similar). Then you can swap between controlling your phone's music and using the Spotify app. The Venu 2 Plus manual linked above suggests it works the same way in Very 2 Plus.
