Sleep timeline metrics missing - Body Battery Charge

Ever since a recent update to my Vivosmart 5 (or maybe it was an app update?) I don't get "Body Battery Charge" anymore in my sleep tab.

I used to be able to see this stat but now it just has a dash. I've tried resetting my Vivosmart 5 but that didn't solve it. I have data displaying for Restless Movements and Resting Heart Rate so that part of it is working.

Anyone else have this issue?

  • I don't understand why the field "body battery vervanging (body battery replacement?)" is empty

It is Body Battery Change. The field is empty for some reason on the sleep screen…

  • I have same issue with my Fenix 7 Pro. It measures body battery and shows it on the chart just fine but "Body Battery Change" under "Sleep Timeline Metrics" is always empty.

It should be an easy calculation based on collected data (that is present!) so I'm guessing it's an app bug.

  • Do you see Body battery in the Body battery page?

  • Yes, I see the graph and the Charged and Drained figures

The app does no processing of the data. It all happens on the watch.

More likely you just do not see the button for enabling it. Tap & hold the buttons under the graph, and shift them to the side, in order to swipe the button bar and see the buttons hidden behind the screen edge.

  • I can see the body battery graph, that is not my problem.

I don't understand why the field "body battery vervanging (body battery replacement?)" is empty. The translation into Dutch is strange (I don't know which English term this is a translation of) which makes me wonder if I understand the meaning of the measurement and still don't understand why the field is empty.

All sleep detection functions are set to "on". Only pulse ox is off since two weeks (to much battery consumption)

    Fenix 6S pro.

It is Body Battery Change. The field is empty for some reason on the sleep screen. Probably a bug. However if you want to see the value, go to Menu » Health Stats » Body Battery, and there it is

  • Thanks Trux for explaining.

  • Yeah, I've had this issue for a while-- it's not restricted to Android, as I'm on iPhone. The "Body Battery Change" field is there, but it is always empty (just a couple of dashes, no value displayed). It's pretty clearly a bug, as all necessary data is collected and the actual body battery graph is complete. I really hope Garmin fixes this-- I liked that field for the few weeks it was actually working.

  • Something changed recently for me - either it was last update or adding body battery to a morning report but finally my Body Battery Charge in a sleep report is not empty anymore :)

  • Hmm. I'm on most recent version of Garmin Connect, have most recent update for watch. Morning report isn't available for my device. I worry that this is the beginning of the end-- that Garmin is not going to roll out fixes for "older" devices (I have a Fenix 6s Pro). I understand that from their POV-- they want to sell new devices-- but from my POV, I'm not interested in buying a new $600 device every couple of years, nor am I interested in contributing to the e-waste stream in that way...
