Different data (training effect, calories and training load) on my Fenix 6 Pro and Garmin Connect application.

"Hello, everyone. I have the following issue. During my last workout, I used a running belt (HRM Pro Plus). After completing the workout, I downloaded the data from the belt to my watch. Currently, I have different values for "Тraining effect" and "Training load" on my watch and in the Garmin Connect app. Interestingly, the accurate data is in the app and the wrong one is on my watch. I'm attaching screenshots from the watch and the app. My questions:

1- Is whether there is a way to synchronize the numbers – those from the app with those on the watch.

2 - The issue is that my training status on the watch at the moment isn’t correctly updated in terms of "calories(original value 504 calories application vs 145 smartwatch), training effect (original value Aerobic 3.7 and 2.1 Anaerobic application vs 2.4 and 0.6 smartwatch), and Training load (original value 103 application vs 31 smartwatch)."

  • Is whether there is a way to synchronize the numbers

If the repeated syncing does not help, then I can imagine only exporting the activity from Garmin Connect Web as Original, and placing the unzipped FIT file into the folder //GARMIN/NewFiles on the watch could perhaps help, but frankly told I am not at all sure whether it really does. You would likely have to delete the activity from the watch (after backing it up), before putting the exported version into the NewFiles folder.

Otherwise, instead of downloading the data from the belt afterwards, I'd rather recommend keeping the watch near (within max 5m) during the workout, if it is possible. Even if you do not want to, or cannot wear it on the wrist, try keeping it in the pocket, on the ankle, in the trunks, or somewhere very close to you. In that way the watch will log the activity with the right data, and there will be no need for merging the HR data later.

It didn't worked out. Something weird happened. I believe that for the moment my HRM Pro got confused with the statistic and now these are the final metrics. My Garmin Connect shows real numbers - "training effect - aerobic and anaerobic" and "training load", but the same time shows wrong numbers too for some of the metrics - "distance - 6,981.95 km" and "200.0 kph Avg Speed". I don't care at all about all of numbers, I care only about Training effect and training load and the thing is that they are not updated in my "Training status".

It is always on my arm while I'm using the belt. And still and at the end of every training session I always download the data from the belt immediately. There is always a small change in the final stats.

Then it looks like the strap is not paired with the watch. When they are properly paired and connected, the data from the strap goes directly to the watch, and there is no need to download the data from the strap to the app.

This is what I think too. I am going to test it again these days so we will see.

A tip for that: you can see easily, anytime during the run, whether the strap is connected or not, by scrolling up from the main screen - usually the last 2 or 3 screens in the loop are those for the Running Dynamics data, and they are only available when the strap is functional and connected.

  • BTW, seeing on your screenshot that the stats seem to be completely missing the Running Dynamics section, it is apparent that the strap was not connected to the watch during the run. I recommend, checking the settings in Sensors & Accessories on the watch, and re-pairing the HRM Pro again.
