VO2 max is not synchronizing.

After installing the Garmin Connect app on my new mobile phone all information (previous runs and new runs) is normally synced with my Forerunner 45, except for the VO2 max.

The VO2 information is available just to the day I installed the connect-app on my new phone. Runs made later are not visible.

How can I solve this?

  • Not every run generates a VO₂max value. It must meet the conditions (see My Recorded Activity Did Not Update the VO2 Max Estimate | Garmin Customer Support for details). Do the runs show any VO₂max value when you look up their details directly on the watch?

  • Thanks for your quick response!

    The run yesterday was 13 km, heartrate over 70%

    Looking at the watch my V02 max yesterday was 45.

    Still there is no VO2 info on garmin connect.

    I have re-installed the app: no changes...

  • The run yesterday was 13 km, heartrate over 70%

    More than 10 continuous minutes with not a single moment dropping below the 70%?

    Looking at the watch my V02 max yesterday was 4

    The watch will display whatever value was measured the last time, even if it were many weeks ago, so that value is not really relevant. You have to go to the History » Activities and open your yesterday's run, and see in the stats, whether it really generated a VO₂max value.

    If the VO₂max values are in the activities' stats, then you perhaps accidentally created a new Garmin Connect account, when installing the app on the new phone. If so, the device may be associated with both of them, and one part of the data does not come through to the new account.

    Have a look at the following article, and follow the instructions there. I recommend doing it even if you are persuaded you only have one account. Removing and adding the device often fixes the type of problems you describe.

    I have done so; there was an other account with no information; I have removed the account.

    Indeed, 10 minutes above 70%, see picture;

    The watch will display whatever value was measured the last time, even if it were many weeks ago

    The watch shows the following; selection ; userprofile ->  VO2 ("gisteren" means "yesterday", "uitstekend" means very good")

    The last VO2 information in Connect is the following, (as you can see nov.12);

    You have to go to the History » Activities and open your yesterday's run, and see in the stats, whether it really generated a VO₂max value.

    When doing so I don't see a VO2 value, furthermore, I have never seen a VO2 value in the past on this spot while I have a good history of VO2 values in Connect.

    on the pictures;

    time / speed                                         calories / heartbeat / steps / rounds

    While writing this I remember that immediately after a run I haven't seen the short pop-up VO2 value for quite a while. This, while there is a history of VO2 values in connect just until november 12.

  • I have done so; there was an other account with no information; I have removed the account.

    OK, so make another run meeting the conditions for VO₂max, and see whether the removing and adding of the watch helped. It won't bring back the lost data. If the duplicate account was the culprit, the re-adding of the device helps only from now on.

  • Dear Trux,

    Today I've made another run. Everything is working as it should.
    Thanks for the support!
