Treadmill Walking. We need a Treadmill Walking activity.

Treadmill Walking. We need a Treadmill Walking activity. All we have is Treadmill running. Even outside if I run on a Walking activity the distance is way off. Walk 2 miles run 2 miles .4 miles Total and I get 36 miles on my watch.

  • Why would you run using a walk activity?

Usually during bad weather I use the indoor track unless it's crowded then I use a treadmill. I simply select WALK INDOOR on my Venu 2 and don't have a problem. I have set my stride in Connect and use the Steps-to-Fit data field so I can see the number of steps in a mile. Both walking activities on a treadmill compared to using the track are pretty close.

  • I agree with @. On my Enduro I only have Indoor Track, Bike, Climb and Row. There is no Indoor Walking nor Treadmill Walking. I had Treadmill Walking on my VA3 and I miss it. When I can't go outside I use Kinomap and sometimes would like to do walking workouts instead of running.

  • Just make a copy of the Walk activity, and disable the GPS option in its settings. With most Garmin watches, it will work indoors, and on the treadmill, too. You may still need to calibrate the watch by doing a few true outdoors walks with good GPS signal, and calibrating the treadmill activity (using the Treadmill Run activity) would help the accuracy too. And, of course, in Garmin Connect, you can always edit the distance after the treadmill walk session, and set the distance the treadmill reported.

  • Thanks for the advice. I'll do that.

  • I see now there is an indoor walking in the Get More Activities page. I just downloaded it and will try it out.

  • Where is the get more activity page. I don't see it anywhere on my app. Thanks
