I am a fan of auto live tracking, however, it should be automatic and not require additional responses from the user. My app is a sort of racing app, therefore any phone usage after the user begins their activity is essentially taking away from the performance of that activity and is a no-go.
1. The problem I have encountered is if the user has a multi-sim phone (including new phones with extra e-sim capabilities, for those customers with a regular sim and e-sim), it forces the user to pick from which sim to send the SMS message to. Wouldn't it make more sense for this to be already stored somewhere in the Garmin Connect app somewhere? Maybe it's more of a phone setting thing, in which case, I will give it more testing.
2. Why can't the live-track send the track link to an email address, is it a security concern? Is it not possible to do this? I was happy that Garmin Connect didn't require that I give it access to all of my contacts in order to enable live tracking for a single contact (it let me enter in a single telephone number and email address successfully), however it seems logical that if I enter an email address, it should work also. If not, why not?
thanks for replies!
