Temperature always stays, 106°, regardless of actual temperature.

I'm using a Forerunner 935.  For some reason ever since August of 2023, all my activity stats say the temperature was 106°, both on minimum and maximum, for the entire duration of any activity I've completed. In reality, the temperatures during my activities have ranged from appx 57° to 85°.  So why is this happening?  Was there an upgrade around August that caused this bug?

  • There are two temperatures - the local weather temperature at the beginning of the activity is shown on the map, and then the temperature of the internal sensor, that is then (usually just as an option) shown as a graph on the activity screen. Which of them are you referring to? Could you post some screenshots?

  • This is what it's shown, consistently since August 2023.

  • Searching the forums, I found 1 other reference to "temperature 106" - Fenix 5x - fēnix 5 series - Wearables - Garmin Forums

No real resolution, other than replacing the watch. If I had this issue, I would do a factory reset, as painful as that might be. Also since this was 4 years ago, there might be a fix that Garmin would be aware of. I suggest contacting them on this issue if the factory reset doesn't work or if you'd rather get advice directly from Garmin - Garmin Customer Support

  • Thank you for the info, that's exactly what's happening to mine.  I went into test mode and saw the current temperature as 297°c, or 557°F.  I contacted Garmin support and was advised it is a bad sensor, and a known problem with some of the watches.  There is no cure for the problem.  They offered me a new refurbished 935 for $130 if I shipped mine back.  But because the 935 is such an older watch now, I decided against this and opted for the newer 965, which they offered at $419.
