Bluetooth Pairing Notification Not Being Shown

For some reason recently my Instinct would no longer connect to my phone.  After trying any number of things I finally decided to factory reset both my watch and my phone (yea!) and not restoring them backups.  Installing the Connect app and putting my watch in pairing mode I get the bluetooth pin on my watch, but no dialog on my phone, nor a notification in the notification area.  As such I can't get my watch connected.  Other bluetooth devices show pairing requests just fine.

Any ideas?

  • Do not pair the watch through the BT menu of the phone, only through the Garmin Connect app! And before doing so, make sure you have removed the old pairing from the list of BT devices on your phone! If it does not help, reach out to the Support.

  • Thanks for the reply.  Nope, not trying to pair it through the bluetooth menu.  Just trying to do it through the app.  I tried it on two other devices with the same result, so I guess reaching out to support is the way to go.  Thanks again!
