Help: No sleep data from before yesterday

Hi,

For some reason my Fenix 7X Sapphire Pro Solar was not synchronized with Connect before yesterday.
Because of this I missed a strength activity and a sleep. However, on the watch I see both. The next day's sleep and that day's activity were recorded again.
After reading on forums, I tried syncing with cable in garmin express. The result was that strength activity is now visible in connect, but sleep is still missing.
I tried rebooting, garmin express, ... what else can I do?

  • Do this and then wait till the next day to see whether it helped:

Remove and Add a Device From the Garmin Connect App | Garmin Customer Support

Note: it won't help retrieving the data already lost due to the duplicate account association.

  • I did it, but unfortunately still no sleep data. And I can't even look back in my watch anymore, as I can only display sleep data for a week. I'm afraid it's gone for good. By the way, I had previously saved a file called DA273615.fit from the clock via USB connection, which was under the Sleep folder. Can't we do something about that?

  • As I wrote, the removing and adding the device from GC will not restore old lost data. It only prevent it from continuing to happen.

If you have some sleep data, you can import them to GC at https://connect.garmin.com/modern/import-data

  • thank you, but why would be precent it from continuing to happen?

as I wrote, only this was not synchronized, after & before this day was always successful

I tried importing it of course, but nothing happend... garmin connect web said it is already uploaed

  • Removing/adding a device fixes a broken association device to GC, so if it was the reason if the drop out, it helps.

If it tells it was already uploaded, then the data is already in your account, and probably belongs to a different date, than the one missing. Or the file is broken, or missing the data.

  • thank you trux, but the association wasn't broken. I created my yoga exsercise morning after the failed sleep synchronisation, then I ran 10 k, and afternoon I climbed on rocks. All activities were synchronized, only this sleep wasn't. Btw, it was the 30th sleep data from 1st September to get the badge of Sleep Savant.

  • I am a very old user of fenix watch. I had fenix 3, 5, 6 and now 7. I wear the watch always, every night. And this didn't happen till 30th September 2023. Grin I think it was a joke from Sleep Savant badge! Joy

  • Every night I put my phone on airplane mode and when I wake up in the morning I enable all connections again.
When I get up in the morning, I check the new sleep summary on the watch display, then I get up.
I never check the synchronization with the phone (GC), because it is always successful.
I only noticed this in the evening, precisely because I didn't receive the mentioned badge

  • thank you trux, but the association wasn't broken.

When a device with associated with more than a single account, or the association is broken (for example after moving to anew phone), you may continue seeing most of the data in the current account, while some data may get lost. It is one of the most frequent problems reported on the forum. It is also described in the following article with some additional details: Data is Missing from My Garmin Connect Account After Syncing | Garmin Customer Support

Another possibility is that the data file containing the sleep data for the concerned period is corrupted for some reason (for example a watch software crash, or firmware update during the sleep), and the sleep data was lost because of it. You could try asking a kind fellow member (like for example ) whether he would be willing to look at the FIT file with the FFRT, and check whether it contains some sleep data or not.
