Disconnecting phone (bluetooth) increase battery drain?

Hello

My quatix 7 have illogical feature. When it switch to power save mode at night according to schedule the estimated battery live in days decrease about few days. I found that only one feature in power save menu is connected to this and it is phone connection. When I leave option on 'no change' the battery live increase in power save mode, also when I change this option to disconnect phone, battery live what probably should be here is getting lower... It makes no sense!

Of course this happens without power save option. For example I have 14d estimated battery live. When I turn off phone connection in Garmin battery live is getting 9d...

Why this is happens?

What is funny! In expedition mode Garmin as default disconnect phone without any option to change! Why if disconnection phone increase battery drain???

  • Don't you, by chance, keep the Wi-Fi on, while you turn off the BT? That could explain the lower estimated time when disabling the BT, since the watch would have to rely on Wi-Fi for the syncing and communication, instead of using le low battery-hungry BT (resp. BTLE). Try disabling both of them in the same time, if you do not do it already.

  • Hello,

No, as I describe power save mode I switch all settings to off to achieve at night low power drain so wifi is also set to off.

  • I've chatted with support and they suggested that the watch is still learning battery drain what explains illogical numbers.

It is possible because it has a few days and I've never charged it yet so maybe it will fix itself...

    Let see...
