since a couple of days my distance tracking is 50+km off and yesterday my activities got deleted? what is happening?

i noticed that when i go for a walk my end distance is like 70km when i only did 6 or 5 so each time i have to manually correct them.

than yesterday i did 10 000 steps, i got the notification that i did it and my that my streak was still going. and today i see that 4000 steps are removed and my last activity is completely deleted.

Why is this happening?

How can i fix this.

Which device do you use? Does it have a GPS, or does it use assisted GPS of the phone? If it is the second case, did you have your phone with you, and were the GPS and the Bluetooth connection to you device functional? Which type of activity did you record? Does it contain the map of the track?

That looks as if the data did not sync to Garmin Connect. Check the Device Sync Audits (at the bottom of the settings) for audits from the concerned time and see whether it was successful, without errors.

You could also have a duplicate account associated with the device, messing up the data transfer. See the article Data is Missing from My Garmin Connect Account After Syncing | Garmin Customer Support for some tips.

  • thx for the quick reply, my device does have assisted gps and i had my phone with me.

i don't seem to be able to find the sync audicts, in the settings menu

  • also im using a vívosmart 5 and the bluetooth was functional. i got the 18days streak notification so i know that they were counted on the device

Device Sync Audit is the last item in the Settings menu of the Garmin Connect app. At the very bottom of that menu.

i got the 18days streak notification so i know that they were counted on the device

That's possible, but if the data is not synced to Garmin Connect, or lands in a different account, then it cannot be counted. If you recorded and saved an activity, connect the device with the USB cable to a computer, download the activity file from the folder in the watch ( //GARMIN/Activity/ ), and try importing it to Garmin Connect Web manually (at https://connect.garmin.com/modern/import-data )

  • ill try, hopefully i can restore my walking streak

  • hopefully i can restore my walking streak

Importing the activity only gets the data of the concerned activity (distance, HR, GPS track,...). Daily seps are stored in a different file, but I suspect that that one may be already gone. Steps and other all-day monitoring data are stored in the folder //GARMIN/Monitoring/

  • found a way to resync the device and it fixed the issue, thx for the quick responds
