I upgraded from the 4 to the 5 because I wanted the additional respiration and sleep metrics. Using the Body battery feature on the 4 was a total game changer in managing my health, I initially purchased the Venu SQ as my upgrade because it was cheaper but ultimately returned it and purchased the 5 because it was missing a critical to me feature, the ability to see if the battery was charging or draining rather then a static number. This is relevant because it only took 7 days for the body battery to adapt and stayed within 1-2 points of the 4. My point is, it matched the data the 4 was giving. I've worn the 5 now along with the 4 (1 on each wrist) for 3 weeks now and the 5 is wildly different. I don't think I've ever seen it over 50, right now the 5 is at 34 and the 4 tells me I'm at 93. (was 100 when I woke up which is common for me), Last night I had the best nights sleep I've had in a while yet the 5 tells me I had poor sleep, the 4 sleep data it does collect shows a decent nights sleep with a lot of REM sleep which I've been struggling to get. Usually I get like 15-30 minutes of REM sleep and last night it was 2.5 hours and I woke up feeling rested. I had a calm lazy day yesterday and spent most of the day being a vegetable watching TV because I was recovering from an intense physically active and mentally stressful day the day before.
I have the 4 set as primary because I need accurate body battery data and while it will import the sleep data from the 5 it won't show me the data from any metric area the 4 and the 5 both cover, just gives me the 4s data so I cant screen shot the data the 5 is collecting but shouldn't the metrics be the same? Looking at HR they are within 3 points of each other.
Should I just reset the 5 and hope for the best for assume its defective?
I was also wondering, the fitness age on the 5, how accurate is it? It says I'm a year younger then my physical age, I'm mostly a lazy bum imo, average 5-6000 steps a day most days, 8-10k on busy days so not exactly an athlete. I do workout 2- 3x a week for an hour most weeks doing HIT but thats it. I'm short and fat with an unspeakable body fat % thats in the obese range, I figured if anything it would tell me I'm older then I am!
