Activities in Strava

Activies that Garmin does not consider as a primary sport like horseback riding are no longer automatically loading in Strava.

Please allow us to choose which activities automatically load to Strava as now only running, cycling, workouts etc show in Strava. Horseback riding used to load but no longer does since Garmin made updates to primary sports.

  • I do not know for sure, but I would tell it may be filtered rather on Strava's side. I do a number of activities of different types, many of them are not set as "preferred sports" in my GC account at all, and they all get synced to Strava.

I just tried storing a dummy Horseback activity, and it indeed does not get synced to Strava. I suspect that it is because Strava does not have Horseback riding listed in the selection of sports. At least I do not have it there, at Strava. I recommend contacting directly the Support at Strava, and asking them.

  • Thank you for the reply. Horseback riding did automatically sync to Strava up until a few months ago. Strava confirmed it was because Garmin ran an update on what is classified as a primary sport and only primary sports get uploaded to Strava. Horseback riding is no longer a primary sport and we as users cannot choose what is a primary sport. So Garmin needs to let us decide for ourselves what is considered a primary sport.
