garmin pay error something went wrong

I had a vivoactive 3. I had 2 cards in my wallet. The wallet on my watch worked.

At some point around a year ago, when I tried to access the wallet through the app, I got the "something went wrong" error

I got a Venu 2. I cleared the app cache. I uninstalled the app. I reinstalled the app.

I am connected to wifi

My phone is a Samsung S20 FE.

The app is up to date.

I still cannot add any cards. I always get the "something went wrong" error

Can anyone advise why this is happening and/or what I can do about it?
