Heart rate stops registering in hike mode only

My venu 2 stops registering heart rate a couple minutes into a hike. It seems to work fine on every other activity I use. Strength, walk, cardio. But in hike mode which I use the most, heart rate isn't reading anything. It just started doing this and I've been using it for 2 years. Any suggestions how to fix this?

Check the setting of the Hiking activity and verify whether it does not use a Power Mode turning off the HRM sensor (assuming Venu 2 has that feature - I am not sure about it). Another possibility is Battery Saver kicking in, but since you tell it happens at the beginning of the hike, and I do not assume you start hiking with low battery, it seems to be less probable.

Also check whether the sensor LEDs are turned on when the HR stops to be recorded. If the LEDs go on lighting, try adjusting the fit, the position, or try the other wrist. If the LED is off (despite not using any Power Mode in the Hike activity), I recommend contacting the Support.
