My fully charged battery runs out in 4 hours of tracking a walk. It is less than 1 year old. Forerunner 945
Do a restart. Hold the light button until watch shuts down and then start it again. That fixes many issues.
It is also good to sync with Garmin Express from time to time. It seems to do some extra stuff that the Connect app can't do.
If that doesn't fix it, then do a factory reset.
