How do I get my garmin steps to sync with strava app

Hi,

My garmin device says its connected to my strava app. I want to sync all my data from before is this possible as I don't know if its connected/ working. It says I can sync old info from 90 days

The steps syncs for me. If I open a walk activity I see the number of steps taken.
