Where does Garmin get the windspeed? Watch set at phone location. Wind indication on watch is far to low, sometimes by 10 knots. And/or too late. Compared to Windy and compared to personal observations. In both cases of little use

Hi, on the Garmin Connect website (not the app), the weather appears on the activity's map. Click to expand it to see the source. Sometimes it uses the official abbreviation for the weather station used, or a WMO ID number. You can then google it to see it's location. In my experience it's usually the nearest station at the start of the activity. Cheers
Ah good point. I was thinking post-activity as I so rarely use it on device. Also my experience is with Edges instead of watches.
On my Edge 530 there are 2 weather displays. One is a widget (pre-installed): "MinuteCast" by AccuWeather. The other seems to be an onboard weather feature page accessed from the status screen. Right now they are indicating 2 different weather stations/locations. The latter seems to be using the same location I see in Garmin Connect post-activity (an actual weather station), while AccuWeather is using my geographic location which I think has no actual weather station.
(Edit: fixed errors, had it backwards...)
