Garmin Connect report all my Bike Rides as "Mountain Bike Ride"

Why does suddenly Garmin Connect report all my bike rides as Mountain Bike Rides? This messes up my statistics in Strava. How can I change this, so that the Bike Rides are in fact reported as Bike Rides (not Mountain Bike Ride)? I've used Garmin Connect in combination with Strava for some years now and the above error occured approximately a month ago.

Which device? If you use an Edge bike computer you can check the type (and also change it) at the bottom before you save and send it to Garmin Connect.

Which activity type is the activity reported as in Garmin Connect?

You can change the type in Strava so the statistics are corrected. Quickest is to use the activity list in Strava. Click edit and change the type: https://www.strava.com/athlete/training

Many thanks! I'm using a Garmin Edge 830 bike computer and you are right - It is possible to change the type at the bottom! I'm just doing road trips though. Do you know how to change the type to road, as default?

It should remember the profile you used last time. So, switch to Road before the next ride.

Many thanks! I now managed to change it in the Garmin Device under settings in the Profile. Strange though, that it suddenly changed a while ago.....
