Every time I go kitesurfing it saves my activity as kayaking. How do I fix this please?

I could not replicate this issue. I did a quick test on my Epix (Gen 2). Started a Kiteboard activity.

It synched to Garmin Connect as Kiteboarding.

Which Garmin watch are you using? Is it possible you didn't actually start a kiteboard activity? Maybe a language translation issue?

OK, and what language? Can you post a photo of how kiteboard appears on your watch? I don't know where you are, but your profile picture looks like heaven. 

Haha thanks I am from UK but living in Tarifa, Spain! Language is English. It says 'Kitesurf' but shows image of kayak.

I'm a bit stuck here. Is anyone able to help? 

I don't have the Instinct Solar Surf, so I cannot confirm it for sure, but AFAIK the Instinct Solar Surf does not come with a built-in Kitesurf activity. It looks like the Kitesurf activity on your watch is just a copy of a kayak profile with the name changed to "Kitesurf".

Yes I think that's how I set it up tmk2 (copied from kayak and changed name). Presumably if I didn't see "Kitesurfing" as an option to select in activity section on watch I should see it when I click "Add"? I can see various options in there but not kitesurfing :-(

Well, that's it then. According to specs there is no kitesurfing on the instinct solar. So the only options you have is to register the activity with a different type (sort of what you've been doing so far) and then change the type in garmin connect after upload.
