Olympus Expedition badge (climbing) doesn't show progress

That model doesn't have a barometric altimeter so you can't get the climb expeditions with it. 

I have tried to change my activity to climbing floors and add the number of floors climbed. But even that doens't count for that type of expedition? The description of the Expedition suggests it can be done that way. Thought that trux suggested something like this in a post...

Steps count in activities as they are a metric on the watch.  For example, Walk Indoor, Walk with GPS, Treadmill (walking and running)., etc.

I just wish the altimeter was not so fussy about climbing stairs. I get better floor counts climbiing a short hill outside near my home that is about 13-14 ft high then I do in my house that has about 11 ft up and 13 stairs. Gotta make sure you take at least 10 steps before climbing stairs and at least that many once you are up - and don't stop walking until you get those 10 steps.

In the thread What's the secret to tracking stairs accurately? there are tips how to get it close to perfect even indoors. Works well for me, as well as for others that I got feedback from.

ABC = Altimeter - Barometer - Compass (may not be available on all models)
