Training Status no longer updating since 10/5/2023

Hi,

For the last couple of days my training status has not been updating, I have completed 2 outside GPS runs as usual however these have failed to update the training status despite having large training loads.

They are syncing correctly to the watch and I can see the exercise load when looking on the app and can see these two activities were 144 and 246 however the Training status previously said that I was being shown a preliminary training status and needed to sync (despite syncing my fenix 6x pro multiple times) and now today I have entered into recovery because my training load has been low lately" which as mentioned above it absolutely hasn't.

Training load is showing as optimal and exercise load from the last 3 day show 246 Vo2 benefit, 144 Vo2 benefit and 111 Tempo.

I have tried syncing the watch multiple times, the runs are all appearing as expected on the connect app however the training status isn't updating.

Can you please look into this/advise what I can do to fix this as this is a feature I been using for months and I'm really disappointed this is no longer working correctly.

My watch did run out of battery a few days ago whilst on a run and it hasn't worked since, not sure if this is coincidence or not but thought it may be worth mentioning.

Note I give you permission to review my account and contact me be email or in this forum to advise how to resolve this issue.

Please help me resolve this ASAP as I've tried everything I can think of on my side, I can only assume this is a Garmin issue, This has always worked previously without any problems. Issue has only started since 10th May - nothing else has changed.

Thanks

Dan

  • What does the training load 4 week graph look like? What is the trend? Post a screenshot.

  • Your training load has been low recently so recovery looks about right, but you are bouncing back in the past few days so you should see it change to maintaining or better very soon.

The training status report on the web is a lot better and you can view all your metrics in one page and see how they change together.

  • I have a Fenix Pro and have been having training status issues as well. My acute load is optimal and I've been riding regularly, but it seems to be stuck on "recovery" status, which is weird. It hasn't done this in the past and updates quickly to maintaining or what have you quickly after an activity following a rest period.

When I go into the training status widget and look at VO2 max within it, I would usually see a trend line of my VO2 max over the past four weeks. It now shows a range of 30 to 52 with no data points ( my VO2 max is 60, so it's outside of the range). I've had the watch for well over a year and never had an issue with this. I did just upgrade to the Edge 840 on my bike, so perhaps the issues are related?
