Emergency contacts. Bug or purpose?

I have no idea it is a bug or just for purpose but when I added contacts from my contacts book my phone send a messege with a link to accept the invitation to emergency contact but you can add them without their permission. Just click on the link in sms and you can accept them without their permission.

  • If you accept on their behalf, that contact will get a 2nd text stating "you are now an emergency contact and have agreed to receive SMS messages." If this was for someone that didn't want to receive these, there should be a link in the txt to opt out, but there isn't. I suggest submitting this to Garmin Product Support.

    • Remove the link in the sent message, or change the "sent from" to be from Garmin so you can't see what the recipient will see.
    • Add an option for the recipient to opt out.
