Should I be worried about abnormal heart alerts

I've been getting abnormal heart alerts since early March 2023. Should I be worried

  • Do you really got that abnormal heart rate or is it incorrect readings? Do you check your real heart rate when you get the alert?

Are you in rest when you get the alerts?

Exactly which alert is it? What are you alert settings? If it the low alert it might be that you just got a low resting HR. If it is the high alert then check you should measure you HR manually.

The low alert can't be used if you got a resting HR below 40 since it will trigger all the time.

  • Garmin watches are not medical devices. If you have doubts, consult your physician. Do not try getting advices about your health on Internet forums. We have no idea whether the alerts are well based, or false. Only your physician can tell.

  • I am resting when getting abnormal heart rate alerts. I've started checking my pulse manually, sometimes it's an incorrect reading of 119bpm on my watch  compared to 80 bpm manually. But today watch said 109bpm and manually 116bpm. I had 3 alerts in 20 minutes. I was not active. I was on my phone at the time. I have both high and low alerts on. Generally my average resting heart rate is around 59bpm and for high it can be anywhere from 107bpm to 130bpm . I can feel/notice palpitations,  like my heart is pounding in my chest.

  • Yes I do understand this and actually thought maybe watch is  not giving a true reading. Especially since I've had 1 of these watches before and have never had any alerts.
