Why does my Garmin keep saying Aquiring Satellite but never finds the satellite

I have purchased the America maps. I have downloaded my American rides in the UK but now when in San Fransisco my Garmin keeps saying Aquiring Satellite but never finds one. Do you know what is wrong?

Hhhmmm, what means "never"? Download of the ephemerides can last long to one hour and needs a clear sky for your Garmin navi.
