Fenix 6 pro loses Bluetooth connection when it returns to the watchface

Bluetooth connection with android phone drops out every time Fenix 6 pro returns to the watch face. Had the watch 3 months and has been faultless until 3 days ago. How can I fix this?

Thank you for this underrated advice to this stupid problem - for some reason the default power mode was set to force-disconnect the phone, I suspect a software update.
