Feature request: add map & progress & checkpoints with views to expeditions

  1. The hiking expeditions are just "put in the steps, earn the badge and points". When I had a Fitbit, their trails showed a map and you could see your progress on the path. When you reached a checkpoint along the way, you could pan a 360 degree photo view from that checkpoint. For the one-point hikes, the view could just b at the end. Seeing the view from places I will never walk in real life was more motivating than just counting steps and seeing the badge, with no real difference among hikes except length and what the badge looks like. With a checkpoint every 30 miles or so, I might even start the Appalachian Trail. Estimating 2 years for me to finish it, it would b boring with only a percent completed indicator, but seeing vistas along the way might even prompt me to put in extra steps to get to the next checkpoint sooner, to see what's around the next bend.
