An error has occurred message when looking at fitness age.

Since Today or maybe yesterday, every time I look at my fitness age I get the message "an error has occurred" pop up at the bottom of the screen 5 times. My fitness age still seems to be displaying ok.

When looking at all the other health stats and activities screens I get no errors, it's only the fitness age one that triggers something.

  • I reported it in a support chat. They said they are not aware of any problems. I said it started happening after an app update. All they could suggest was to reinstall the app. Force stopping the app and clearing the cache did not help, though I was able to view my newsfeed a few hours later. I don't know if it is the app or a server side issue.

  • I never really look at my news feed, but just checked now and that seems to be ok for me. It's just the fitness age and weight that give the error message.

  • Same problem here with two different Android phones.

  • I'm getting error messages popping up when I manually enter new body weight. It's only visual but it's annoying as ***. Last update messed it up.

  • I have played around a bit today to try and figure out what could be causing the problem, and it may be something on the Garmin server side. From the Android logcat messages when viewing the Fitness Age or Weight screen I am getting a "403 forbidden" message returned for the URL https :// api.gcs.garmin.com/productSearch/pid/search?pid=679362&country=GB&language=en (edit: had to break up the URL a bit to stop the forum turning it into a link)

This URL isn't checked when opening other screens like the sleep one, and all other URLs in the logs get a "200 OK" response.

I'm not sure where to email my logs to so that Garmin can look at it though. It is also entirely possible that this is nothing to do with the message :) it is just the only thing I can see that looks obviously wrong.

edit2: the reason the message pops up 5 times is just because of a limit by the Android system, Garmin Connect is actually trying to show the message more than 5 times.

  • I have the same issue. I think it started when we switched to daylight saving time in Europe. For two days after the switch the app also crashed when looking in HVR. Same bug occurred last time we time change

  • Come on Garmin this is ridiculous. For s few weeks now I'm getting and error message flashing up 5 times when trying to view fitness age and weight data uploaded from my Index S2 scales. Please don't say there is no issue because there obviously is. Everything was working fine previously so please do something about it. You shouldn't have to wait for your user base to keep reporting the same issue and for you to do nothing about it or even deny there is a problem.

  • I've emailed the dev team a few days back and had no response.

If you're going to use email to open a support case, you should use [email protected]

Or use the Garmin Support Center to open a case through phone call or chat session, depending on your location.

, you should be able to do this also. Slight smile

    • I've dropped them an email as per your suggestion, let's see if I get a response.
  • Typical response times for me have been 1 to 3 business days.
