[Issue] gear tracking - add another gear to activity is broken

the already added gear in activity is removed if another gear is added.

Precondition - set some gear as default for an activity, i.e. bike

Steps to reproduce

1. Save some bike activity

2. Edit activity and gear

3. Add another gear, I.e some custom one

4. Save

Actual behavior:

The new gear is added but the bike is removed

Expected:

Both gears are saved

I've been having this same issue for months and just noticed a few weeks ago. Had to go through and edit (via the web) multiple activities where default gear fell off. Even worse, if you go into the activity on the mobile app and edit the gear there (adding all pieces back) only a seemingly random selection actually gets saved to the activity.
