Why does the connect app only update weather about ever 6hrs, a temp that is 6hrs old is no good

Shouldn't be older than about 20 minutes. Do you have the app location permissions set to "allow all the time?"

Open the Garmin Connect app.
Select (top left).
Select Settings.
Select Phone Permissions.
Select Manage Permissions.
Select Permissions.
Select Location.
Select Allow all the time. If "Allow all the time" is not an available option, toggle Location On.
Power your Android phone off and back on.
Power your Garmin device off and back on.
Open the Garmin Connect app.
Sync your device.
